Characters Character Sheets Crysknife(Edit)Every adult Fremen carries a crysknife, made from the tooth of a worm. The tip, the hollow once occupied by the tooth's nerve, customarily holds a small amount of the most deadly poison available, most often a mixed derivative of the native desert plants. Fremen usually attempted to avoid killing a respected enemy with the tip of the blade; poison was considered a weapon more suitable for use against animals than humans. The tip carries enough poison for 5 applications. If an enemy takes damage from an impaling attack (not a cutting/swinging attack), a dose will be administered. There are two types of crysknife - fixed and unfixed. An unfixed crysknife will start to dessicate if it is not kept close to the electrical field of a human body, and will be entirely useless after several hours. Fixed crysknives are treated for storage, and do not need to be kept close to a body, but are much less common. Treat both varieties as Large Knives of Super-Fine quality. They cannot be purchased. A successful impaling attack is necessary in order to deliver the poison to the victim. Crysknives are very important to the Fremen, and several traditions have grown up around them. Once drawn, a crysknife must draw blood (even if it is the owner's blood) before it is put back into it's sheath. To do otherwise is to insult Shai-Hulud and risk bringing down his wrath on all Fremen. No off-worlder that sees a crysknife can be allowed to leave Arrakis without the consent of the Fremen. Kindjal(Edit)A large knife with a slightly curved double-blade approximately 8" long. Lasgun(Edit)Treat as per normal laser pistol/laser rifle from the basic game, except when a lasgun hits a shield. If a lasgun beam comes into contact with a shield, there is a small atomic explosion, which will be centred on either the lasgun or the shield (roll a die - if the number is odd, the explosion is centred on the shield. If the number is even, the explosion is centred on the lasgun). Such an explosion does 12d x 200,000 concussion damage, with damage being halved for every 64 yards from the centre of the explosion. Stats are given below for pistol and rifle-sized lasguns. Lasguns are notorious for needing a lot of maintenance. In harsh conditions like those on Arrakis, they will need even more maintenance. Maula Pistol(Edit)A Maula pistol is a hand-held pistol that was used to fire poison darts. It had a range of approximately 40 metres. Maula pistols usually used a spring-loaded mechanism. They were especially effective on Arrakis, where shields were rarely in use, and were often used by the Fremen. Slip-Tip(Edit)Any thin, short blade designed for left-hand use in shield fighting. Can be carried in a small sheath strapped to the wrist. Often tipped with poison, they only have enough poison for a single application. Weapon Tables(Edit)Ranged Weapons(Edit)
